P4 Turns 10
This month marks 10 years of P4,
and 25 years since our story began.
Ten years ago, we were Chairbiz.
In 2001 when it all began, our focus was simple: bring attainable, well-designed seating to the Australian market – Online, Ontime. Chairbiz.com was Australia’s first truly online website for commercial furniture and quickly gained a reputation for supplying quality products and reliable service.
As the business grew, so did our role in the spaces our clients were creating. We weren’t just supplying chairs, we were helping shape better workplaces, hospitality venues, learning spaces, healthcare environments, public spaces, and everything in between.
We became a different business.
After 15 years, Chairbiz no longer described what we’d become. In 2016, we became Products for People, or P4 to our friends.
The name wasn’t just a rebrand. It was an expression of how we’d already been working. Our focus had expanded from a product category to the people, places, and experiences that good design supports. We were curating a collection of products by understanding the people who used the space, and the purpose it needed to serve. Building from there to create spaces that put people first. Products for People made sense.

A decade of design in action.
Over the past decade, we’ve kept building around the needs of the people we work with.
That has meant closer collaboration with Australia’s architecture and design community, partnerships with some of the world’s most respected furniture brands, and continued investment in local manufacturing, upholstery and stock support to reduce lead times.
Because being Products for People has always meant more than the products themselves. It’s about making it easier to create spaces that work better for the people who use them.
