Orgatec is one of the biggest commercial furniture tradeshows on the calendar. As a biennial event, what has changed in the world of workplace furniture since 2016? That’s exactly what we’re going to find out, as P4 will be on the ground throughout the massive, five-day event in Cologne, Germany.
Not shy to tackle big themes, Orgatec in 2018 has some interesting topics up for debate.
Wellness on the Rise
The trend towards wellness has been bubbling away in the background for some time. It was only inevitable that it would make its way into our office spaces. Orgatec will be covering this theme in a multitude of ways at this year’s tradeshow – including a day dedicated to its consideration on Tuesday 23 October for ‘Workplace (R)Evolution for Wellbeing’. This asks visitors to consider the relationship between technology and wellbeing, and how our workplaces will need to adapt.
While over in the special event area PLANT 10.1, a workshop on mindfulness will discuss its use as a personal tool in the digital age. Trade visitors can learn about this technique in a Taster course, which includes a blend of lectures and exercises, both sides of the brain will be tested.
ABW and Human-centred Design
From workshops on design thinking to a whole day dedicated to the notion of human-centred workplace strategy – Orgatec 2018 will be unpacking some critical ideas that play into Activity-Based Working and Human-Centred design approaches.
P4 Brands to Watch out for
Many of our brands will be out in force and we can’t wait to share all the latest. We’re expecting to see some exciting new things from True, including a high back version of SHO from the design team at Favaretto & Partners.
Other important brands to keep an eye on are Maxdesign, Blå Station, Noti, Chairs&More, Kastel, Luxy and Officebricks. Just to name a few!
We’ll be reporting back with updates across the board, and in the meantime, if you’re going to be making the journey to Cologne please let us know, we’d love to catch up. Prost!
