Meet BOB.

What if the sofa followed the architecture?

Designed for Swedish design company Blå Station in 2017 by Thomas Bernstrand and Stefan Borselius, BOB pioneered a new approach to modular seating.

Rather than working within conventional fixed forms, BOB is built from individual modules that allow seating to move through straight lines, curves and changes in direction — creating everything from compact settings to expansive architectural installations.

It gives designers a coherent system for creating social space at many scales, guiding movement, creating places to pause, supporting informal meetings and establishing shared settings without relying on fixed boundaries.

Simple by design and expressive by nature, BOB has become an enduring tool for creating interiors that feel functional, distinctive and human.

A system with its own language.

Straight, curved and angular modules combine to form compact settings, long runs, changing directions and expansive seating landscapes.

This clear modular logic gives designers control over form while ensuring every configuration remains recognisably BOB.

Build, rearrange and extend.

A commercial space rarely remains exactly as first planned. BOB installations can be reconfigured or expanded when teams, activities and spatial requirements change.

Existing modules remain useful as the setting evolves, reducing the need to begin again with an entirely new seating solution.

More than a sofa.

What began as a modular sofa has grown into a wider collection for lounging, meeting, focused work and retreat. The family spans open seating, privacy-led formats, workplace pieces, tables, lighting and accessories.

Together, they allow BOB to support different experiences across a project while feeling unmistakably connected.

Colour and texture, specified locally.

BOB is stocked in Australia and is finished, upholstered and supported locally by P4.

Specify textiles from leading Australian and international collections, including Kvadrat, Gabriel, Laine, Instyle and Maharam, or from any preferred supplier, to suit your project’s palette, budget and durability needs. From restrained neutrals to expressive combinations, local upholstery gives you complete control over the final character of each setting.

Renew rather than replace.

BOB is designed so that the value already invested in an installation can be retained. When finishes become worn or a project takes on a new identity, existing pieces can be reupholstered locally rather than discarded.

This approach extends BOB’s useful life and supports a more circular way of furnishing commercial interiors.

Extendable.
Reconfigurable.
Renewable.

Certified sustainable.

BOB holds FSC, Greenguard, GECA and Möbelfakta certifications, reflecting Blå Station’s commitment to responsible materials and long-term product integrity.

BOB, specified.

With projects in Australia and across the globe, BOB is specified and used in workplace, education, hospitality, reception, lobbies and public environments.

BOB creates places for people to wait, meet, gather and move between activities.

From concept to specification.

Use the BOB Planner to test layouts, adjust modules, visualise scale and refine a configuration before progressing to specification.

A full library of Revit and CAD files makes it easy to bring BOB into your drawings and project models as the design develops.

P4 can then confirm the selected configuration, technical requirements, upholstery, availability and pricing.
