Transversal design for home and work – Sho by True Design

As the typologies of home, work and hospitality continue to blend into new paradigms for living, working and meeting, furniture brands like True Design are beginning to (quite literally) put form to the future.

Following a successful showcase at the Salone del Mobile Milano in April 2018, True Design showcased its collection at Orgatec in October. This collection, curated under the title ‘True Goes Through’, is composed of seating and meeting products that fit perfectly into transversal public and private contexts – that is home or office/common areas that are dedicated to work or hospitality.

True has worked with P+F Architetti’s Aldo Parisotto, who is art director of these contemporary and transversal product lines. As Aldo says: “My scope of work is to create a collection of the furniture for living space – space for working, living, meeting.” The products respond to the rapidly changing needs and dialogues within domestic and commercial contexts. Elements and furnishing accessories can be adapted to suit both home-offices and workspaces – even reaching into those more hospitality-centric environments.

The SHO collection of sofas by Favaretto and Partners is a perfect example of the versatility of True Design’s pieces. It maintains a powerful presence, its curved form enclosed within a rigorous external shell that supports backrest and armrests. Sinuously shapely, SHO is highly adaptable, designed to suit the different aesthetics that define home and workplace contexts.

Encompassing an armchair, two or three-seater sofa, pouf and chaise lounge, SHO can be adapted into two versions – low backrest or high. The former is perfect for contract and living environments, while the latter affords greater privacy and is an appealing solution for the workplace.

SHO’s various elements can be mixed and matched to create sharing spaces, and accessorised with integrated electrical sockets and worktops to allow for increased functionality.

As True Design continues on its path of designing for an ever-more blended future, its flexible, transitional products will continue to shape how we work and meet – whether from our private, more personal spaces, or in those everyday common space. Definitely a brand to watch!
