The historic golf course Kristianstad Golf Klubb (in Åhus), which was bought privately 10 years ago to save its future existence from becoming valuable house plots in an expanding Åhus – has now, just in time for this year’s 100th anniversary, got a new clubhouse and restaurant. The last effort or piece of the puzzle in the new owners’ 10 year plan. No expense is spared here!

The architects Krok & Tjäder were commissioned to design the new and fantastic clubhouse, which would contain all conceivable functions and possibilities, but above all social areas and a restaurant that could swell and shrink between seasons and seasons, and easily be divided at events. At the same time, the architects made a proposal for a floor plan with selected furniture from Blå Station who asked if they could contribute with their knowledge regarding planning, function and spatiality. The answer was a yes from both the golf club and the architect.

Martin Nygren, who is a restaurateur himself, was brought in as responsible interior designer and together Nygren and Blå Station set about a final floor plan, choice of products, functions and a well-thought-out colour palette.

The result is a harmonious symbiosis between space, architecture and the stunning landscape outside the large windows. And there, outside the windows, on the terrace of the outdoor dining area, the club chose to reuse its former outdoor furniture Straw from Blå Station, now repainted in three shades of green and thus do what many today want, namely to keep but update – all in the spirit of ReUse of the time.
