The concept for NPMs latest design and construct project was Yin Yang for Australia Square Level 39.
The former space was divided into two suites which found a balance between negative vs positive, feminine vs masculine, rounded vs straight, softness vs hardness, calm vs energetic and slow vs fast. This was achieved through colour selection, furniture/fittings/equipment selection and office floor space.
The Yin suite would represent a more delicate, feminine environment with soft/light tones, whilst the Yang suite would represent a geometric, sophisticated, masculine and vibrant environment.
Quiet rooms, collaborative spaces, boardrooms and breakout areas are featured in both suites which can serve multiple functions but also provide a diverse balance.
Julia Moreira, Senior Interior Designer for National Projects, specified chairs from Kastel’s Kalea collection adding optional upholstery for comfort. She explains…
“I would say because they were perfect for our concept featuring white shells and white powder coated base and also we could customise using our preferred fabrics for each one of the suites. The chairs are also comfortable and very suitable for meeting areas.
The built in arms were a great plus. Not easy to find in the market”
Both suites were leased before completion.
